Terms of Service

1. Introduction
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the authentication platform service ("Service") provided by Authon ("Company", "we", "us"). By accessing the Service or creating an account, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
2. Service Description
Authon provides the following authentication services for developers and businesses:
- OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect authentication
- Social login integration (Google, GitHub, Kakao, and 15+ other providers)
- Passwordless login and magic links
- JWT token issuance and verification
- Multi-tenant support
- User management dashboard and API
3. Eligibility
The Service is available to individuals aged 13 or older, or legal entities. If you are using the Service on behalf of a legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms. Individuals under the age of 13 are not permitted to use the Service.
4. Account Management
- You are responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date account information.
- You must keep your credentials (email, password, API keys) secure.
- You must notify us immediately of any suspected unauthorized use of your account.
- Only one account may be created per email address.
- Account transfer or sale requires prior written consent from the Company.
5. Prohibited Uses
The following activities are strictly prohibited:
- Using the Service for illegal or harmful purposes
- Unauthorized access to other users' accounts or authentication credentials
- Attempting to bypass or compromise the Service's security mechanisms
- Causing excessive load on the Service infrastructure
- Distributing malware or using the Service for phishing or spam purposes
- Reverse engineering the Service or extracting source code
- Using the Service to unlawfully collect or process others' personal information
- Circumventing API rate limits
6. API Usage Policy
API usage is subject to per-plan request limits. Exceeding limits may result in additional charges or temporary service restrictions.
- API keys must only be used server-side and must not be exposed in client-side code
- You are responsible for any damages resulting from API key exposure
- We reserve the right to restrict access without prior notice if abnormal API usage patterns are detected
7. Fees and Payment
- The free plan is available indefinitely within monthly authentication request limits.
- Paid plans are billed monthly or annually.
- No refunds are provided for downgrading or canceling a subscription during the billing period.
- Failure to pay may result in restricted access to the Service.
- Changes to pricing will be communicated by email at least 30 days in advance.
8. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in the Service, including software, design, logos, and trademarks, belong to the Company. Users are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-commercial license to use the Service during the subscription period. Users retain rights to their own application code and content created through the Service.
9. Service Availability
We strive to maintain continuous and stable operation of the Service, but the Service may be temporarily unavailable due to scheduled maintenance, natural disasters, or system failures. Planned maintenance will be announced in advance; emergency maintenance may be announced after the fact. Our liability for damages due to service interruption is limited to the extent permitted by applicable law.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for:
- Damages caused by the user or third parties
- Indirect, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service
- Impact from policy changes by third-party services or social providers
- Damages resulting from API key exposure or inadequate security settings
11. Account Termination
Users may delete their account at any time through the dashboard. We reserve the right to terminate accounts without prior notice in the following cases:
- Violation of these Terms
- Service abuse or security threat activities
- Extended inactivity (12+ months for free plan accounts)
- Non-payment
12. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms when necessary. Significant changes will be communicated by email or in-service notice at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from the use of the Service shall first be resolved through negotiation. If resolution cannot be reached through negotiation, disputes may be submitted to the competent courts.
